This listing does not have a live-in host, but the instructions for getting the keys and operating the condo were clear and comprehensive. The condo complex is very clean and the condo itself was spacious and very well-equipped. All appliances, shower, etc. worked very well. We especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, as we loved making our own breakfast and eating it on the lanai. The lanai faces the interior of the complex with beautiful trees that create a privacy barrier, and just on the other side of the trees is the pool which is very easily accessible - a nice feature. The front of the condo faces the road and it is a busy road, although it was quiet at night while sleeping. From the front landing, you can see a bit of the ocean to your right. The condo itself, however, does face a 6 story condominium hotel which blocks the view of the ocean. We preferred traveling to the beaches to the North, which had wider beach areas and better snorkeling and a great coastal trail. Although the West side of Maui is more touristy and crowded, there is much to see and do and plenty of places to explore for more privacy. We are more nature buffs, but did love the town of Lahaina, which has in incredible history with great museums, etc. It is very close by. Also, great restaurants. We especially loved Honu's at the North end. Try the Ahi Bruschetta for a real treat! We also especially loved exploring the Honoapiiliani Highway. Gil, Christian's go to man for any questions or issues, was very responsive. This area of Maui is quite expensive if you are staying in the hotels, so if you are looking for a great bargain in a condo with lots of room and amenities, I would certainly recommend staying here. It is a GREAT jumping off place for exploring West Maui.
