1) Where is the beach and what is it like?
Kahana beach is just a few steps away (89 adult steps to be exact) . See our

access is through the left side of the Hololani Hotel. The beach gets wider as
you go farther to the left (south). Kahana beach is usually a calm beach and it
has good snorkeling. Of course there are so many other beaches close by that you
will also want to explore. See

2) How do you get there from the airport?
Most people rent a car for their Maui stay as there are many places to explore
and rentals cars are cheap and readily available. It takes about 45 minutes from the
airport by car. Details are at

taxi service and shuttle service like the Maui Shuttle

have not used the shuttle but the taxi might be the most convenient alternative.

3) Is this beachfront. Is there an ocean view? . Our complex is very large and extends
right up to the ocean. Our unit is about 80 paces from the ocean. The lanai on our unit faces the lush tropical garden, and is very private.
There is a limited view of the ocean from a bedroom window. You can hear the waves crashing on the beach.
4) Does the unit have cooking equipment? What
else is there?. Yes, the unit is a fully furnished 2nd home and has
everything you need to cook. The unit is professionally cleaned before your
arrival and is stocked with clean towels and the basics to get you started.
There are usually some spices and condiments left behind by other guests and
there is a variety of beach toys, masks/snorkels, folding chairs, sun umbrellas
etc. on the balcony (lanai) that has built up over time. We do not mange this
equipment and the inventory changes all the time as some equipment wears out and
some guests leave behind their unwanted beach toys.
there air conditioning? Yes, we have 2 a/c units inside. One is in the
smaller bedroom and the 2nd is between the Master bedroom and the living room.
6) What about internet access and phone? We
have wireless and wired internet access in the unit. The phone in the unit is
free to call anywhere in North America. If you want voice mail, you can just
turn on the voice mail by pressing the button on the station in the smaller
7) Where can I get food? There is a pretty
large general store next to our complex in the Kahana Gateway Plaza. The plaza
also has a coffee shop, MacDonalds, and restaurants like Roys Bar and grill,
Maui Brewing Company, and Angus Steak House as well. The China
Boat restaurant is a 5 minute walk north. The Times Food Store just south is a
very large full service grocery, and the Cannery Mall has a 24 hr Safeway about
5-7 minutes from us by car. Organic foods, diary-free foods, and supplements are
available at the Farmers market just a 3 minute drive south from our unit.
8) What else is close? There is a dive shop,
surf rental shop, beer and wine store, fitness center, Salon, pub, bank, and gas
station all within a 4 minute walk from the unit.
Where are the medical facilities? Maui has very good medical care
facilities. If you have an emergency you can call 911. To see a doctor, you can

in Kanapali. If you need to go to emergency, the Maui Memorial Hospital is 45

11) What about coffee? There is a great
coffee house right next to our complex in the Kahana Gateway Plaza. The Hawaiian
Village Coffee Shop has awesome coffee as well as a nice comfortable and cool
sitting area with internet access. For those who normally only like Starbucks,
you will be very impressed. Details at

the general store next to us sells the Starbuck Via, or you can make the 5
minute drive the Cannery Mall and visit the Starbuck there. There is also a
Starbuck in the Barnes and Noble bookstore across the street from the Cannery
smoking allowed? Sorry no smoking inside the unit or on the covered balcony.
there a pool? Yes, there is nice round pool
great for kids and BBQ area just behind our unit. You can see it partially from
the balcony. There is also a large lap pool just a little
farther away in the complex.
